  • I was in the Army as Combat Engineer (Airborne) and learned to operate all kinds of different weapon systems civilians never get to use. However, I've never been a "gun nut" or had the interest until recently. Im starting to collect more guns and I really want to learn as much as I can about all kinds of guns. Does anybody have a good recommendation about what books I could buy like a guns 101 kind of book or should i get Guns and Ammo magazine? Thanks!

  • I would recommend buying several different firearms publications and just read them over and over
Some I recommend are SWAT, Guns and Ammo, and Shooting Illustrated.
Also, check out some of the firearm company's websites and firearm blogs.
Go to YouTube and watch videos like Hickok45, Sootch00, MrGunsandGear, IraqVeteran8888, and Tactical Rifleman to name a few.
Soon you'll be up to speed.

  • for values and collectors type info they make a "blue book of gun values" and also the "Gun traders guide" both are redone every year. I also suggest starting with any books your local Library has and some of the on line Forums are super
