Bud’d “details” says this Ruger 5820 is chambered in.223 Rem. The Ruger website says it is chambered in .223/556 NATO. Is it rated 556 NATO?

the barrel marking is 5.56NATO/223 so yes you can use both 223 and 5.56 NATO in it. You can contact Ruger to verify this at Telephone: 336-949-5200 / Fax: 336-949-5300 (Monday through Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm ET)

Hi George, Yes the barrel is stamped 5.56NATO/223 . You can use both 223 and 5.56 NATO in it. You can contact Ruger to verify this at Telephone: 336-949-5200 / Fax: 336-949-5300 (Monday through Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm ET)

George, the Ruger 5820's Barrel is actually stamped 5.56NATO/223 so it will fire both rounds just fine. Ruger knows their own firearms. Buds listing is not complete.
