BudsGunShop.com - New Springfield Arms Saint Hammer Coating Flaking?

I was cleaning my new Saint and after 40 rounds found the silver covering had chipped off in numerous places on the face of the hammer, exposing the metal underneath. I wonder if this is normal and will affect performance? Needless to say I haven’t seen this happen on any other firearm, cheap trigger?
