A hollow point (HP) round without a jacket will likely shed more lead in the barrel than the jacketed variety (JHP); most of the modern-day self-defense ammo available is typically JHP. All the top brands--Hornady, Winchester, Remington, Speer, etc. make very good defense ammo. You should buy and try several brands and types in your firearm to see which one is the most accurate.
