  • I was thinking of asking $500 for it, I checked the serial number and it was manufactured in 1942. It has sat in my fathers closet unused for 3 to 4 decades. Any help would be great! Thanks!

  • Anyone that prices a firearm without seeing the firearm is guessing. Condition is everything. In the case of the M1 Grand there are many little things that can dive the price up or down significantly. For instance there were a number of M1 imported that had welded receivers (yes cut and re-welded). These are no where near the value of lets say a 1945 intentional with all the I.H. parts. Knowledge (finding someone with the knowledge is the next issue) and seeing the firearm is the only way to put a value on it.

  • I own some that are in the thousands. It's hard to put a price without seeing the firearm.

  • If in good condition Andrew, $1300 is the starting point. If all the numbers match then $1500 plus. gunvaluesboard.com/1942-m1-garand.-what-do-i-really-have-539317.html

  • depending on shape you are way low you don't see them under $1000.00 and can go way up from there depending on condition and who made it I suggest you do some research and I would start with this site (not offering to sell at first just research until you KNOW what you have) m1garandforum.com/index
