threaded barrels are legal in Chicago. It's the suppressors that could be attached that are illegal. huronvalleyguns.com/state-gun-laws-restrictions/il-gun-laws-restrictions/ I still recommend checking with a local FFL to be sure as Chicago laws are a mess
