this Beretta model j92m9m does it have a normal 92fs safety or is a decocker type? also I have kids so should I lean toward a safety or a decocker ?

It comes with the Decocker. It has a thumb safety as well.

Amanda, I would lean heavily toward the "Safety" with kids in the house. Out of the 3 pistols Buds has in stock, the JS92M9A3G is "Decocker Only". budsgunshop.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=JS92M9A3
