eligible for a rifle

hi, i just have a question so if somebody knows about it that would be great.
So i'd like to buy a long range rifle to shoot on a target in the desert. but the fact is that i'm not a us citizen but i'm legally here. so what do i need to buy that rifle, permit ? hunting license or nothing ?

Lots of good answers here, but a trip to your desired FFL where you plan to have it shipped may be worth your time.

Google "US Gun Laws for non-citezens". Vrolyk explains it well. You're fine to own a firearm as a legal immigrant. But where you live will dictate what you need. Many states require only a photo I.D. and nothing more. Others require permits, foid cards, etc...

It depends on your state laws. Every state is different. Some counties laws are different even in the same state. Just google search gun laws for whatever area you are living in and you'll get the information you need. All legal residents are allowed to own guns the same as citizens.
