it must be shipped to your home state of ohio for the transfer paperwork to be done as it is a handgun. Federal law prevents interstate sales of handguns
Jake, You can purchase at the retail location, but must be shipped to FFL in your state. A pistol purchased out of your state of residence must be shipped to your favorite FFL in your state. They will do the paperwork for the feds and handle any state specific details.

It is not Jake. Only "Long Guns" (Rifles or Shotguns) can be purchased out of your state of residence. Handguns, no. A handgun must be shipped to an FFL in your state of residence for transfer to you. That is Federal law across all 50 states.
Long guns (rifles and shotguns), yes, provided the laws of both states are followed. That of the state you are buying in and your state of residence.
