I can't tell from the picture, but it looks as if this gun has a checkered stock. Does it?

Hi Jeffrey, there is checkering on the hand grip and fore end of the stock. Much better picture here : remington.com/rifles/bolt-action/model-783/model-783-walnut-w-scope
