How would you rate this gun in comparison to the venerable Ruger SR22.
both guns are very good I went with the ruger the interchangeable grips made it easier for me using it to teach my kids to shoot (better fit with small grip) while I still enjoy shooting it with the larger grip plus I am a fan of Ruger customer service (not so much a fan of walther) mine has worked with almost all the(different brands) 22lr rounds that I have tried in it its on of the 1st guns in the range bag for every trip to shoot I agree that you should handling both to see which feels best to you. on the ruger the whole grip sleeve is replaced on the walther just the backstrap is changed

Walther Arms P22 QD Single/Double 22 Long Rifle (LR) 3.42" TB 10+1 Blac
The Ruger SR22 Walther P22 are so close in feature and function they can be paternal twins. For me the nod goes to the Walther as it's ergonomics fit my hands slightly better giving me more natural point-ability and sight recovery for subsequent shots. I suggest handling both at a local brick and mortar to see which feels best to you my man as everything else is a wash.
