Is this a 4150 barrel?
Is a 4140 barreled AR a bad buy?

William, The heart of this carbine is its 16.1" 4140 chrome-lined barrel. With a 1:7" twist, ammunition selection is virtually unlimited. The "Chrome Lining" will give this barrel plenty of usable life up to around 40,000 rounds.

William, the COLT LE 6290 models come with the 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel barrel iirc. For all intents and purposes for the average user, 4140 is not a bad buy if you go that route. Hope that helps!
