  • I just bought my first revolver, a used Model 10 SW from Buds. The forcing cone is damaged from the cylinder hitting the cone. It has actually dented the cone for probably 75% of its thickness. Is this gun safe to fire?

  • Thomas, I would not attempt firing. I would contact Buds for advice immediately if this damage was not detailed in the listing for this used revolver at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm Mon-Sat and 11am - 7pm Sun (7 days a week).

  • The cylinder shouldn’t be touching the forcing cone at all. You need to take this to a qualified gunsmith before you even think about firing it.
