  • Cody - Many "drop in" barrels are in fact, "drop in".. However, due to very slight differences between 1911s and between the barrels of different manufacturers, it is sometime necessary to have a gun smith do some minor fitting to the barrel, and bushing, in order to ensure a proper fit. Having an improperly fitted barrel on a 1911 is a disaster waiting to happen, and can affect accuracy in a very negative way. So, hope for a 'drop in' fit, but be prepared to get some minor gunsmith work done to get the best possible fit - for safety and accuracy.

  • Cody, there is a very high probability that it will drop right in and fit. This is why the barrel maker states that due to individual pistol tolerances, minor fitting may be needed.
