Does this handgun have a thumb safety? If not, then what is its safety mechanism?

No it does not have a manual thumb safety

Brandon, no Sir. This model does not have a "Manual Safety". Internal safeties prevent the striker from firing unless the trigger is pulled.

The P320 has no external safety or decocking lever to
snag or hang up on the draw. IT has an internal safety to prevent thegun firing until/unless the trigger is pulled. And of course the most important safety of all - the user's trigger finger.
