I was just wondering if, for example, the lower or upper polymer receiver on this were to break, could you take the parts out and put them in a regular upper or lower?

James - Yes indeed. They are definitely interchangeable to other uppers/lowers as you might want. The poly receivers are pretty tough though - I was surprised. But mine held up very well. I finally sold it after putting some 5000+ rounds through it.
