what makes this model CA Compliant as opposed to the other SD40VE LISTED on the same page for less $$
Robert - In order to get a handgun 'approved' for sale in CA, the manufacturers must submit the gun to CA's "testing and certification" process ... along with the funds CA charges to "pay for the testing". Works sort of like a 'ransom'; payment in kidnapping cases. Once the manufacturer has submitted to CA's extortio-like 'testing' process, they charge more for the approved guns because they have more costs involved with getting those guns to market, and possibly having to install additional "safety" features on those guns designated CA approved models. . In other words, the firearms owners of the state of CA are being forced to pay more for their firearms, because the state is skimming money from the manufacturers to 'sell' them the right to market their product in CA. So, please, don;t blame the manufacturers, or the vendors - the higher prices re all the fault of the greedy government of California.
All "New" Ca Compliant firearms must have the LCI which is the Loaded Chamber Indicator.
