Is there a transfer fee when transporting my new purchase to the local gun store for pickup? If so how much?

Yes, there is a transfer fee. It is set by the FFL as opposed to the background check fee which is set by the State. They range from a few dollars ($15-$25) to $60 plus in some places. Shop for the FFL you will use before you buy.

$20-$30 is the range you should expect. Shops vary in fees, but not by much.

there is no transfer fee between dealers (buds to your local ffl) but there is a transfer fee between your ffl and you. That fee is strictly up to your dealer. my local guy charges $25.00

Yes. This will depend on the FFL dealer you select. Prices range from $15 to around $40+. The majority are in the $20 to $30 price range. You will need to contact your local gun store for their "exact" transfer fee amount.
