Raymond, The stock on this RAK47-C is solid teak. A very hard wood that looks great and is very durable. A laminate stock is just as beautiful and most hold up very good. Some people think the laminate stocks are prettier and teak wood pretty plain.

if you don't like the stock you can always refinish it to a darker color
