Though I’m ambidextrous, I would like my shooting hand to be the left and I was wondering whether this firearm was meant for left or right handed shooters.

Colt, it was meant for Right Handed shooters. However, my oldest son is a leftie and does not have any difficulty firing the Shockwave with using his left hand as the primary shooting hand. I suspect you will not either.
