  • I recently applied a small amount of white out to the front sight to make aiming easier, but did not like the rough texture once it dried so I removed it using a soft sponge and some CLP. Afterwards, it seems that a bit off the original black finish was rubbed off by the sponge- I can see shiny stainless metal at the base of the front sight on the right side, just a tiny spot. It won't rust will it? Should I be worried? I realize these guns can take abuse. Just worried about long term issues.

  • Christopher, it should not Sir. I would treat the small area with a rust inhibitor just in case though. Once white out dries is does become chalky and a small dab of clear sealant will smooth it out.
