  • One of the more difficult ones to breakdown in my opinion is a kimber

  • I just bought my 1st 1911 from Buds last week. I watched a few YouTube videos and learned that 1911's are pretty much the same. Just be careful pushing out the slide lock, very easy to scratch! My 1911 is stainless so my idiot Mark is gone now. But if it were blue or flat black I would not have been so lucky.

  • That's like asking which pickup truck is best. They are all pretty much equal and the real trick to having the gun that breaks down the best is for you to PRACTICE with it until you can do it with your eyes closed, in a dark room, on a ship bobbing around in rough seas, with one hand. That is the easiest one.

  • Almost all 1911 hand guns are constructed the same with very few moving parts and easily field striped for easy cleaning. I find that the Remington 1911 very easy to break down and clean. Only three steps.

  • They all function very similarly, so you will not see much difference. "Bushingless" 1911's might save you one step, but that is minor. Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911, model DE1911G or GSS, is a very easy-to-care-for pistol. The 1911 take-down is probably why companies like Beretta and Sig have pinless take-down, with the simple flip of a lever.

  • Most 1911 pistols break down the same. My ATI can be field stripped in about 30 seconds. If they have a full lenth guide rod it takes a few extra steps, but nothing major.
