  • I've never owned an extractor shotgun before, only ejectors. Can someone comment on the pro's and con's of extractors? Your experience with same.

  • Ernest, Ejectors are great if you are hunting, they allow you to reload quickly. For target shooting they are not as desirable. However shooters usually learn how to defeat the ejectors, it is not that difficult if you want to save the hulls or not annoy other shooters. Most ejectors require you to open the gun with some force, if you go gently they act as extractors. If not you can hold your right hand (RH shooters) over the chambers when you open the gun. It really boils down to use and personal preference.

  • I have had both and to me it does not matter as even with ejectors I cover the breach with my off hand to catch the empties and put them in my vest.
