  • Is it true that Colt is not making anymore AR 15s for us normal people citizens? A coworker told me today but I think it’s bs. I checked the colt website but it didn’t say anything. Should I not support colt anymore?

  • William, It is true that Colt will pause Civilian AR-15 Production For Military Contracts. See following article:-----------https://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrJ6ysM5DhemIAAzRZXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTBydWNmY2MwBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwM0BHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzcg--/RV=2/RE=1580815501/RO=10/RU=https%3a%2f%2fthefirearmblog.com%2fblog%2f2019%2f09%2f19%2fcolt-continues%2f/RK=2/RS=O1ICbpD10q7DIfbNvL25DoHAHcM-

  • William, Yes once the Colt inventory is depleted they will not be making long guns for the commercial market. Sep 11, 2019 · Colt has halted production of its commercial long guns lines and is focusing its manufacturing and sales on 1911s and revolvers. He also stressed that Colt has about 110 days of long gun inventory in its distribution network and if market conditions change down the road, they could revisit this decision. https://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=AwrJ6ysM5DhemIAAxxZXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTByOHZyb21tBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzcg--/RV=2/RE=1580815501/RO=10/RU=https%3a%2f%2fthetruthaboutguns.com%2fcolt-halts-sales-of-long-guns-to-the-retail-market%2f/RK=2/RS=VoiCaVmVAixfaGfjLx5_gpwlieI-

  • I think they were having issues with selling the AR platform, since so many companies offer excellent rifles and parts at way cheaper prices. I think they are focusing more on handguns and getting contracted business, such as law enforcement agencies and military branches. The decision was market driven and they have to do what’s best for the company. You can still support Colt if you want. That’s your decision. They didn’t go anti-gun. Colt is actually a small maker of ARs. Other companies are bigger in the AR business. It was my pleasure to assist you.
