Greetings all! What is the connection point on the bottom of the front heat shield called? trying to add a bipod...or is there a better way? recommendations?

Jeff, The bayonet lug is on the bottom of the sight. Bibod on bayonet lug will greatly hinder accuracy because it is connected to barrel/gas port. Better to put a rail section on bottom of forend and use rail mounted bipod.
