I recently ordered three firearms for delivery to Illinois. I'm concerned that my FOID card may expire before the delivery is made to my FFL, and the transaction is complete. I applied and paid for a FOID renewal on January 4th, for which I have documentation, but it is still "under review" due to a backlog of applications in the state. What are my options if this transaction is not complete before April 1st (my current FOID expiration date)?

I would contact the FFL where they are being shipped. Is there any grace period (here in NC for a CCH renewal the receipt for the renewal payment along with your old license is still good) If you have to wait then your local FFL should hold the firearms until your renewal is complete

Andrew, Buds Customer Service may be able to advise you of options in case April get here and the purchase is not complete at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm Mon - Sat and 9am to 7pm Sunday. I would also talk with you FOID issuer.
