I'm going to buy my first AR-15 this year and I am having trouble selecting the rifle I want. I have looked at several different guns, I like the Springfield Saint with the free float hand guard, but recent research suggest I go with the Savage arms MRS- 15 recon. Or should I just spend the extra money and buy a higher end model? Just looking for opinions to help me make a better decision. Thanks.

Hi Anthony. the Springfield Saint with the "free float" would be best between the two. The Savage is just as good even though newer, but you will appreciate the accuracy of the free floated Saint. Either can be upgraded with most AR accessories for future progression to a more sophisticated platform as your knowledge, skills and needs evolve.
