  • right now I would go with any Jacketed hollow point you can find I like the Federal Hydra shoks

  • Right this second "what you can get your hands on".
    After the shortage, you need to search forums for your specific guns and barrel length. I am a huge fan of the Legend Pro all-copper Hollow Point ( budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/21353) for my 3" barrel guns (Bersa TPR9C), but it is designed to shoot out of short-barrel 9mms, and would over penetrate out of a 4" barrel (a Glock 17, etc.).
    The number one qualification for a defense ammo is that it goes bang out of your gun 100% consistently. If you can't trust that, the rest doesn't matter. Once you know it goes bang, then you worry about maximum expansion with sufficient (but not too much) penetration.
