  • I am drawn between the Ruger Mark IV Target model in SS or the less expensive blued model. I see a weight difference of almost 8oz. between the two, Any comments on the significance of this weight differential?

  • the weight difference is in the grip frame Stainless steel or Alloy so I don't think the weight will have much effect on muzzle flip and the alloy frames have been around 40+ years on the ruger Mark guns so I don't see a real advantage to either I suggest getting the Blue and a lot of extra ammo ( I am still shooting my MK II)

  • Gregory, the 8oz heavier Mark IV Target, will likely be slightly more accurate due to less muzzle flip from more weight. Now, being that it is a .22, does not have much recoil to begin with so the lighter pistol may handle better for long shooting sessions. I would go with the Stainless.
