BudsGunShop.com - Active duty military spouse FFL transfer

I’m a spouse/dependent of an active duty military member and my “permanent” state of residence is Minnesota but I haven’t lived there in 10+ years. I was hoping to buy a pistol from this site and have it sent to a local FFL in my current state of residence, Virginia. I contacted the FFL to see what I needed to bring to pick up my purchase and they said they can’t legally do the transfer (it would only be legal for active duty military member to obtain the pistol). How do I legally buy a gun?

Amber, by law you can only have a handgun shipped to your registered state of residence, which is Minnesota. This is the reason the Virginia FFL stated that they could not legally transfer the handgun to you. It would jeopardize their FFL license. The only legal way is to change your residence to Virginia.
