I need a basic, reliable shotgun for home defense. I’m pretty sure I want a pump action tactical, and the front runner as of now is the Winchester Super X Defender Pump-Action Shotgun with the 18” barrel. The problem is recoil, and perhaps weight (I have bad wrists, elbows, and shoulders). Given the choice, I’d choose 20-gauge, but that particular Defender only comes in 12-gauge. All of the 20-gauge weapons I’ve found have longer barrels. What do you recommend? I’ll consider other brands.
