For the same round, in this case .22 Long Rifle (as well as .22 Long & .22 Short), the longer the barrel, the longer propellant gases can expand, pushing the bullet to greater speeds and thus greater muzzle energy and better trajectory (less drop per distance) - you can also say greater range, better ballistic efficiency, etc. This holds true as a barrel is lengthened until it reaches a length where friction overcomes the potential gain in velocity.
Longer barrels offer the opportunity to place the front and rear sights further apart (increased sight radius) making it "possible" that a given shooter might be more accurate (practical as opposed to hypothetical accuracy). That said, this particular gun strikes me as awkward and totally inconvenient. A handgun should be, well, handy - otherwise get a rifle. Didn't Jack Nicolson's Joker character use a revolver with a barrel this long or longer in an early Batman movie? There it was appropriate.
A guaranteed looser in a quick draw fight..doubles as a cane for small people [plug the bore first]....more power in the swing when used as a hammer...heavier decoy anchor...any more ??
i believe the longer the barrel is the accurate it makes it shoot. some people probably might not agree to with me but it also is better for hunting even though the 22 is to hunt smaller game with. hope this answers your question
Size matters !
just for fun !!!!!!!!
For me, I got this as a conversation piece. People at the range always wait for me to finish shooting to ask me questions. While I’m home, I have it on a handgun stand on top of my coffee table, while I watch tv. It also, in a way, diversifies my stash. It gives my collection something different. It also brings new challenges to a six shooter gun. I put a bipod for laughs and giggles when my friends came over.
Steve, rifle like velocity for hunting in a handgun.
Cause it is cool.

Sometimes it is fun just to have something different, even if it may not be the most practical. You will get a bit more velocity from this longer barrel, thus increasing range and energy on target. You can actually get a Heritage Rancher that is basically a 16" revolver with a shoulder stock, making it a rifle and a barrel length of 16 1/8th" to make it legal. I have one and it is really fun. A genuine Walnut stock, all Steel frame and a genuine leather sling, all American Made. It happens to be very accurate and accepts the 6 round 22 Mag cylinders that all the 6 round 22 revolves take. The fun/cool/unusual factor is reason enough.
