When contenders first came out I shot some large caliber rounds through one. Not 460, but rifle rounds. It was manageable. You had to hold on to it, but it was fun.

it is a well balanced gun so that helps reduce a little recoil, but it still packs a wallop. I would reccomend this for an experienced shooter. if you have experience shooting larger caliber pistols like 44mag its not too much different in my opinion. very smooth and accurate and easy to operate.
