BudsGunShop.com - Safety jammed on a new gun not fired

Just bought a WASR Sporting Rifle Cal. 7.62X39mm. As I manipulated the gun, I noticed that the safety was jammed in a position above the 'Safe' position. Looks like the safety was scraped across the gun from the 'Fire' position. I can't move the safety at all. Any ideas?

Bruce, those WASR's have notoriously sticky safety selector. I removed mine and polished with a dremel, lubed and replaced and it was butter smooth. Fine grit sand paper works too. Since yours is new, I'm familiar with AK's and if you are not, I would contact the manufacturer or importer for advice or solution.
