The SR9E is the "Economic" version of the SR9. My wife loves this gun because of its ambidextrous controls (she is a lefty). Essentially have done little things to soften up the price of the gun, but the design is a SR9 with a safety and all. It does come with only one magazine, but a regular SR9 works fine with it as well as SR9 holsters. My also owns a SR9c as well, and she loves it. You can't go wrong with this pistol.

The Ruger 9E only comes with one magazine from the factory, and as far as the safety yes it does have a manual safety.
