  • Am I legally able to purchase a pistol with larger than a 10 round capacity? Our state law dictates that residents can not purchase magazines exceeding a 10 round cap. I was curious if that applied to armed guards as well.

  • From what I understand you can possess and use LCM's (large capacity magazines) that are pre-ban if you register them but they can only be used for practice at a gun club and not used for carry. If you are not an LEO you get 10 rounders. If you practice regularly you can do effective mag changes in under a second. I am restricted to 10 rounds in competition and have no problem being back on target in a second.
