Jim, the only difference is the 27842 has the better Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 Scope With BDC Reticle and the 27891 has a lower quality Bushnell Banner Scope.

Jim, These are the exact same rifle. The price is the difference due to upgraded Vortex Crossfire optics on model ending in 42. Most people replace the Bushnell scope on model ending in 91.

Both are the same exact rifle with different scope. 27942 comes with Vortex Crossfire II - 3-9x40mm,
while 27891 comes with Weaver Kaspa 3-9x40 scope. I hope this helps.
