Stanley, It is a value. You have to get what you want. If you really want the G19 $15 is nothing. The S&W M&P and Glock are both great firearms. Buy them both and get a fine collection started.

A direct question. Why choose a glock over m&p? It doesnt have stainless steel, metal sights and does not have a lifetime warranty. Not concerned about resale because have no intentions of every selling.

I don't own any Glocks because I dont like the way they feel in my hand, I do own a 4.25" SW MP 2.0 in 9mm and it is a super sweet, reliable, accurate gun, has better sites, better build on the magazines, better trigger, and better ergos then the Glocks.
I dont k ow anything abiut resale value of them because ive never sold any of my guns and surely have no intention of selling my MP2.0. Of you plan on keeping it and not selling later id definitely go with the SW, Having a higher resale value doesn't mean the Glock is a better gun, it means they have better marketing to make people p less thing that a used glock is worth more. If you have a range that rents these 2 go shoot them both and see a hich one you like better, im betting .out would go SW after shooting side by side.

Honestly, I would get Glock 19 because the resale value is so much better than M&P9. Glock practically doesn't lose its value over time. Since you want No Thumb Safety, I would just spend a few more and get Glock. I hope this helps.
