what is the difference between this gun gun and the 10/22 with the "Talon" scope mount base? Is it harder to mount good scopes to this version then that one?

Eric, no difference in the mounting of a scope for either. The Talon is just a limited run of 10/22's : taloinc.com/ruger-firearms
