  • Vito, Modified Choke tube is a tube with a Medium level of restriction to force shot into a medium tight pattern. Details here : https://tpwd.texas.gov/education/hunter-education/online-course/firearms-and-ammunition-1/chokes-and-patterns ------------- The current high demand low supply firearms market has many firearms being listed for higher than manufacturer retail price across the board. It is your personal choice as to whether or not you are willing to pay it. Even ammunition has more than doubled and tripled in price in a LOT of cases. Cheers and stay safe!

  • James and Trin already explained the Choke tube thing far better then I could as to the price, the MSRP's are set for what the gun SHOULD cost not in a perfect world but in a normal non 2020 verge of the appoclypse world. I'd say take a hard look at do you want it, or do you need it? If you are going to use it for home deffense and your sure a shotgun is what you want (I prefer an AR because i shoot them better, but every ones home deffense depends on their local laws and their skill sets, among other factors, cost?) If you do NEED this for your home deffense then don't let $60-$70 dollars leave you deffenseless and vulnerable, if you end up in situation where your life, home, or family is in peril it'll be to late to place an online order, or maybe your getting into hunting fowl, or rabbits or something again don't wait. This could be an invaluable tool in an unstable world. Also think about all the craziness that's already happened this year, something new could come up and make that gun impossible to find. If you just want it to add to collection and dont really need then by all means wait. But if you NEED it get it dont wait.

  • Choke tube means you can change it. If you want it in this market pony up the bucks and buy it.

  • Hi,
A choke is the tapered constriction of a shotgun barrel’s bore at the muzzle end. The purpose of a choke is to alter the distribution of the shot as it leaves the firearm. The various size chokes constrict the barrel thus tightening the spread of the shot. Thus, the thicker the choke, the further and tighter the shot will travel. The choice of choke will depend on what game bird you are choosing to hunt. Modified Choke is a choke with moderate constriction. Good for medium distances of 30-40 yards. A modified choke is a suitable choke for shotgun users who don’t want the openness of a cylinder choke or the heavy constriction of a full choke. Modified chokes basically provide moderate constriction in your shots so that you can have better accuracy and a decent amount of spreading at the same time. You should consider modified chokes as the “medium” chokes because they give you the best of both worlds. They are best used when shooting at medium distances which are about 30 to 40 yards away. Mossberg model 32200 (aka Maverick 88) is superb budget gun. I would not pay full price of $299 for it however as the real (before pandemic) price is more like $210 - $240. I hope this helps.
