  • I just got a Marlin 336. Can you use 35 whelen ammo in it

  • The 35 Whelen produces too much pressure to be used in a Marlin levergun. It probably wouldn't chamber anyway--cartirdge dimensions for both calibers are very different.

  • 35 Whelen is a significantly longer cartridge than 35 Remington so it wouldn't fit in the chamber. Not to mention the fact that it is a significantly higher pressure cartridge, nearly double, and would not be safe to fire in anything designed for 35 Remington.
