As to which one to get id watch some youtube reviews for both get an idea of how they run, just copy the name of each rifle throw on "youtube review" in the end of it.
Then see which you think is gonna fit your needs better and how much you wanna pay
henry is the better quality most henrys load from the front of the tube while the marlin loads from a reloading gate on the receiver. I prefer the marlin because of the loading gate and the pistol grip stock
Henry is MUCH better quality than Merlin! While I prefer Merlin's action, their quality control has dropped to rock bottom over the past few years. You will get much better quality and finish with Henry. I hope this helps!
Dile, I would personally go for the Marlin 336C 30 30 over the Henry steel 30 30 - In the current high demand. low stock market, both are about as rare as hens teeth Sir. I would check on large gun and accessory sites like (6)un (8)roker and Armslist as discontinued and hard to find firearms and accessories show up for sale by private individuals and small shops. Just replace (6) & (8) with G & B.
Lefties like a Marlin for the top eject. Other than that it is up to the individual. I like a Henry. I also own a couple of Marlins.

Henry now is offering rifles (some models) that have both the front tube loading magazine as well as being able to load through a side gate on the receiver. This is the best of both worlds. one can top off easily through the side gate, and unload or load through the tube. For example, the Henry LONG Ranger has a side loading gate, and is offered in 5.56, .243, 6.5 CM and a .308 with a bottom magazine.instead of a tub magazine. While the Henry .410 shotgun has a tube loading magazine and and a side loading gate.
I agree that in terms of quality control and refinement, Henry will be the better made rifle over any recently made marlin Rifle (post-1994). Uberti, of Italy, hands down makes the highest quality of any lever action rifle, however these are also rare now and bring a higher premium price.
