40 SW refers to the caliber as the round was created by SW after the FBI asked SW to design a round for them that had more stopping power then 9mm, higher capacity then 45acp, and controllable recoil so that even their female and smaller male officers could handle the recoil. It essentially a shortened 10mm case but the same size bullets.
SW brand mags for the MP and other SW model guns chambered in 40SW will not work with this carbine.

So it will accept magazines for the Glock 22, Glock 24, Glock 35 and the Ruger SR40

NO, it only can use Glock or Ruger mags. This comes included with Ruger SR magazine-well installed and an additional magazine-well for OEM Glock magazines. I hope this helps.
