  • Can I use 38 calibers with this rifle and I believe I saw the side gate but I don't see where the casing comes out? Taylors and Company 2043COM 1873 Comanchero Lever .357 MAG 20 10+1 Walnut St. I changed my mind about getting the 38-55 because the ammo is hard to come by. Am I making a good choice?

  • YES, you can shoot .38 Special from all .357 Magnum lever gun and revolver. Taylors and Company 1873 eject from the top of the receiver. This might be an issue if you want to mount optics on your lever gun. Take a look at Henry or Marlin if you want a side ejecting lever-action gun. You are MAKING GREAT CHOICE! I hope this helps!

  • Yes most 357 lever guns will also shoot 38 special but they don't cycle as well as they do with 357 magnum rounds, and they don't eject spent cases very well.
Watch hickock45's review of the Henry big bore 357, at 4 minutes he takes his 1st shots with 38 special and it doesn't perform as well

  • Amir, yes Sir you can. Virtually any 357 Magnum firearm can fire the less powerful and less recoiling .38 Special ammo. Cheers and stay safe!
