is it possible to have buds let me know when a specific product is available? how do I go about getting that set up?

Yes it is possible to have buds let you know when a product is available. As far as setting it up if your already registered with buds, then all you have to do is add the item that your looking at to your wishlist, and then once that product is either back in stock or available they will automatically notify you via email. In order to add it to the wishlist all you do is click add to wishlist, which is listed where the add to cart usually is.
