NO, this is NOT legal in Cook County IL (I live in Chicago). All semi-automatic rifles are prohibited (Buds will not sell it to you). Only Semi-auto that is legal is those with a fixed magazine such as SKS or M1 Garand. Check restrictions HERE ( budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf )

For restrictive areas like IL id look at a lever action, with a tube magazine is the next best thing.
