Robert, yes Sir, I do it all the time. Expect effective range to be 8 to 10 feet. They are counter intuitive to shotguns as the shorter the rifled barrel of the pistol/rifle, the better the pattern : youtube.com/watch?v=YxphDh9ydII&t=530s

They'll shoot but they'll not pattern well, as they are designed to be fired out of smooth bore rifle.
