Gerald, it does not auto fold as you have to manually press a button to relieve spring tension to close. This is demoed on a similar design knife here : youtube.com/watch?v=mlf3vmttf7c

It is an "automatic" open knife, you press a button and the blades flips open quickly with the assistance of a spring. There should be a period or a comma after automatic. "Automatic, Folder, Wharncliffe Blade."
