  • I have a Rugger AR 556 that I purchased new a few years back and took it out last weekend to fire the weapon and on the fourth round it jammed and would to fire or eject the next live round. the carrier bolt is stuck closed and will not open? any ideas out there on what has caused this and how do I fix it?

  • If you can separate the upper from the lower id do that 1st before anything else, this'll remove the hammer, from being able to contact the BCG, then if the BCG and charging handle will remove, the lodeged round should come right out, during any of the handling of the rifle ALWAYS keep the muzzle in a safe direction, and dp not put your hands or any body parts in front of the muzzle at any time.
    If you have any concerns about trying any of that yourself take it to a gunsmith, or qualified Range safety officer at your local range, but be sure to call them 1st and tell them what your bringing their way.
