  • One of my buddies is deciding to hunt deer with a 9mm pistol this year using Buffalo Bore 9mm +P ammo or something like that but he asked me to ask around for maybe more powerful 9mm hunting ammo suggestions and yes he's going to keep shots fairly close 25-40 yards maybe pushing it to 50 maybe

  • not something a ethical hunter should do use a handgun suited for hunting 357 is the bare minimum for small whitetails 44 mag or 45 lc would be better

  • Im sure with good shot placement 9mm will work. First I'd use the longest barrel pistol he has cause the longer the barrel the more velocity he will get. I'd use heavy grain ammo like 147gr because heavy rounds usually penetrate further. Best rounds I can think of would be speer gold dot 147gr or 124gr +p, or federal hst 147gr +p. Hope this helps.

  • Shaun, I certainly do wish him luck as good shot placement will be key. As far as ammunition, Underwood is my go to for heavy hitting ammunition : underwoodammo.com/9mm-luger-plus-p-plus-124-grain-bonded-jacket-hollow-point.html ------------------------- underwoodammo.com/9mm-luger-plus-p-plus-147-grain-bonded-jacket-hollow-point.html ---------------------- underwoodammo.com/9mm-luger-plus-p-plus-115-grain-xtreme-penetrator.html
